BSE Accreditations are valid for 5 years.
Candidates who wish to extend their accreditation after this period
will need to apply for re-accreditation.
Full details are given in the re-accreditation document
sent with confirmation of Accredited status.
In summary:
- Continuous membership of the BSE is required in order to
be eligible for re-accreditation. If membership has lapsed at
any time since you were Accredited you will be required to pay all
outstanding fees before your application can be
processed.
- BSE will write to you shortly before your accreditation
expires.
- If you choose to apply for re-accreditation you will need
to provide evidence of continued scanning activity and
participation in relevant courses and meetings.
- Your Head of Department/Clinical Lead will countersign
the application to confirm required scanning levels
- Copies of attendance certificates will need to be
submitted to confirm attendance at relevant courses
and meetings.
Those applying for re-accreditation will need to provide
evidence of continued scanning activity and participation in
relevant meetings/courses. Candidates will not be required to
submit further logbook or video cases.
Individual courses and meetings will be assigned
re-accreditation credits by BSE. A list of these will be available
here shortly. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to
keep evidence of meeting/course attendance (most courses/meetings
will provide attendance certificates).
Approximately 3 months before the accreditation is due to expire
the candidate will receive a reminder letter. The form will
need to be countersigned by the Head of Department to confirm the
candidate has performed the stated number of echo's. Copies of
meeting/course attendance certificates will need to be submitted
with the re-accreditation application.
