Applications are now open to volunteer with the British Society of Echocardiography’s Accreditation committees across departmental accreditation and clinical standards.
What’s involved?
Volunteering your time to review applications from various departments throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Departmental accreditation site visits
Part of the application process is for a reviewer to visit the site seeking accreditation and meet the applicants to assess the application. Visits are undertaken by 2 assessors with feedback via a written report.
Echo quality applications
Virtual reviews of examples of using the echo quality framework, discussing findings/reviews with the broader committee before delivering an outcome to the applicant. An outcome is usually given in written form with the option of having a video call with the applicant to discuss the outcome.
Who do we need?
Medical leads, physiologists, and cardiologists working in BSE accredited departments (currently or recently), who can commit to reviewing at least two applications per financial year. Full training and support will be provided.
What do you get in return for giving up your time for the Society?
Formal recognition of your contribution via CPD letter, reaccreditation points, *discounted entry to BSE events. For the practical days, we provide overnight accommodation for the night before the assessment, host a dinner for the examiners, lunches and refreshments provided on the day. For those travelling for site visits, travel is reimbursed.
You will be introduced to a dynamic network of long-running examiners who are integral to the committee and the accreditation process. The examiners have formed a supportive, like-minded community, encouraging Departments and individuals to follow BSE standards.
Applicants should provide a CV and the expression of interest form below to [email protected].
