Important changes to conference at BSEcho 2026

Published 01/04/2026

Ms Hatty Grant, Marketing and Education Manager for the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE), shares important changes for attendees of this year’s annual conference.

Changes to BSE points

This year, we have increased the maximum amount of BSE points available from 10 points to 12 points.

This change brings the BSE points allocation into line with other CPD providers such as the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) as well as aligning more closely with the hours of content accessed.

Points will be capped at 6 points per day, however additional content accessed on demand will also count towards this cap.

Tracking attendance at the face-to-face event

This year, we are once again implementing further tracking of session attendance at conference. However, we have taken feedback on board and made some small changes to ensure that allocation of BSE points is made appropriately.

In previous years, delegates only needed to have their badge scanned on entry to the venue.

This year delegates will need to ensure that their badge is scanned or that they sign in manually* on entry to each session.

In addition, this year delegates attending face-to-face will be allocated a BSE point on entry to the venue in reflection of the value of networking and peer-to-peer support accessed by attending the conference in person. The caps described above will still apply.

These changes continue to ensure that face-to-face attendance tracking is in line with on demand tracking, to ensure that accreditation is allocated fairly and able to be audited appropriately for our commitments to awarding bodies.

We thank you in advance for your understanding regarding these changes, which enable our small team to continue to support your attendance at BSEcho 2026.
