Stress echocardiography accreditation

Stress accreditation is a process that checks competency and safety of echocardiographers undertaking this modality.  Following successful completion, accreditation is valid for five years.

The main focus of the exam is to test a good working level of knowledge of the assessment of ischaemic heart disease but there is a small proportion of questions on other indications for stress for e.g. structural heart disease.

Candidates will need to find a mentor to guide them through the process, they do not need to be BSE accredited. For more information on mentors, see the accreditation pack.
