Echo in Africa

Echo in Africa is a collaborative project between the British Society of Echocardiography and SUNheart which takes place at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town South Africa.

Now in its sixth year, volunteers are invited to take part in this project screening students from secondary schools in low socio economic rural communities in Cape Town for early stage rheumatic heart disease. This project will give these children early access to diagnosis and necessary aftercare through the Tygerberg Hospital and well as validating a scanning protocol to be used in the communities using portable devices.

If you're interested in volunteering you can find more information below.

If you have specific questions, please contact us at eia@bsecho.org.
