Heart failure is a rapidly expanding and exciting field, and whilst there have been huge advances in outcomes with optimised pharmacotherapy, heart failure remains a huge health care burden in the UK. The focus of this day will be about understanding the areas in which imaging can help to identify additional targets for intervention to ultimately improve patient outcomes. In the context of HFrEF, the lectures will span the increasing use of valve therapies where heart failure and valve disease co-exist, the assessment of ischaemia and the use of revascularisation, and imaging to optimise resynchronisation therapy. The second part of the day will focus on the increasing use of imaging in HFpEF to identify targets for pharmacotherapy, the phenotyping of HFpEF and a review of atrial myopathy. The programme has been developed to capture a range of procedures and imaging specialities with individual lectures / talks being delivered by nationally renowned experts in their field.
Finally there will be a hands-on component for individuals interested in understanding the new BSE diastolic guidelines and their application in day-to-day practice.
